Introducing Natasha Warnakula: Executive Assistant

November 9, 2023

Meet Natasha, your go-to guru for all things analytical and more. With a degree in Economics and Management from the prestigious London School of Economics (LSE) and currently pursuing her MBA, Natasha is not only academically accomplished but also deeply passionate about sharing her knowledge and helping others. She thrives on the joy of lending a helping hand and immersing herself in new ideas and innovative ways of thinking.

But Natasha's interests extend far beyond the academic realm. When she's not globe-trotting or crunching numbers, you can find her indulging in her favorite pastimes – reading captivating books, enjoying cinematic adventures, and cherishing quality time with her family and friends.

Why did you join the financial planning industry?

I embarked on my professional journey at a renowned global bank, and from that point on, my passion for the financial industry has only grown stronger. Throughout my career, I've had the privilege of engaging with a diverse range of individuals, allowing me to share experiences and build meaningful connections. While initially involved in backend operations pertaining to financial planning, I gained invaluable insights into the inner workings of the industry.

However, it was my transition to Master Your Money Now that truly opened doors for me to actively participate in client meetings. This opportunity brought me immense joy, as I discovered the profound satisfaction that comes from assisting individuals in shaping their financial futures. In particular, working with young people and empowering them to build a solid foundation for a better tomorrow has been incredibly fulfilling. My career journey in the financial industry has been an enriching experience, allowing me to meet incredible individuals, share knowledge, and contribute to the betterment of others' financial well-being.

Where was your last holiday?

My recent holiday was back home in Sri Lanka, my family and I visited Sigiriya, often referred to as the 8th world wonder. This majestic site boasts a rich historical story, with its iconic rock fortress and stunning frescoes, leaving us in awe of the ancient civilization that once thrived there. We also made our way to Trincomalee, one of the most pristine and breathtaking beaches in Sri Lanka. The crystal-clear waters and soft sands provided the perfect setting for relaxation and rejuvenation, creating cherished memories especially the one where I got stung by a jellyfish while snorkelling!

What do you do in your spare time?

One of my favourite pastimes is exploring different cafes, as I am captivated by the unique ambiance, delectable treats, and the opportunity to savor a moment of tranquillity. Also cozying up at home with a classic film, I find solace in the art of storytelling and the power of cinema to transport me to different worlds, evoke emotions, and inspire new perspectives.

How have you adjusted to living in Melbourne?

Adapting to a new city and living independently in Melbourne has undoubtedly presented its challenges, but the support I've experienced from my colleagues and friends have made the transition much smoother. They have been a pillar of support, not just in the workplace but also in helping me navigate the nuances of Melbourne life. Their willingness to share local knowledge, recommend hidden gems, and offer practical advice has been invaluable. The support, friendship, and inclusiveness they have shown me have created a sense of belonging, making this new city feel like home.

What's your secret talent that nobody knows about?

Cooking up a storm and busting moves like nobody's business. If you ever need a scrumptious feast or a dance party that will leave you gasping for breath (in a good way, of course), count on me to bring the flavour and the fun!

I believe that food has this amazing ability to bring people together, and I just love being the maestro of deliciousness surrounded by hungry souls. Also, I am convinced that my feet have a life of their own! When the music starts playing, there's no stopping me. I can dance and groove for hours on end.
